The most famous are wrinkles that cover the head, neck and body. Puppies of this breed are wrinkled all over. However, this feature is limited to the head, neck and withers in the adult dog. Though many people when choosing the dog are captured by that extraordinary appearance.

This breed has a very peculiar appearance. They are compact dogs of medium size. Their coat is harsh and loose, making them look so different from other dogs. These dogs also have a “hippopotamus like muzzle,” a high set tail, and very small ears. Chinese Shar Pei dogs are no longer breedable if obtained through a rescue for this breed of dogs.
